Had a fantastic breakfast the other morning at Black Bear Diner in Lakewood. From the moment you walk in, it just feels like home—clean, cozy, and welcoming. The service is absolutely top-notch. Vanessa, Jesse, and Tyzhanae not only kept my glass full and brought out hot, delicious food, but also brought great banter and genuine conversation that made the whole experience feel like I was among friends. What really stands out, though, is how they treat my 86-year-old dad. He walks with a cane and has hearing and vision challenges—and maybe a few dated comments here and there—but they always find a table close by, speak up when needed, and treat him with the same kindness and patience they’d show their own dad or grandpa. That kind of compassion is rare, and it means the world. Dinner service is just as wonderful. Shelly and the evening crew bring the same warmth and care, making every visit a pleasure. All in all, this is a truly great family diner—delicious meals, exceptional service, and the kind of place that makes you feel like you belong. PS The review from “ Honest Reviewer” is extremely unfair and from a chronic negative reviewer, take it from a regular, this is a great place

Was at a business meeting. The private room was accommodating. Loved the American flag on the wall.. Enjoyed the pot roast. Excellent place to get comfort food. I didn't have dessert this time, but they are awesome. Update: visiting with a friend for lunch. Had the parmesan sourdough burger. The fresh fruit side was wonderful and a nice change from fries. Staff were nice and welcoming. Service was excellent.

Classic All American Diner. Love Their Originality! Our Server, Tall Gentleman, Roger, I Think is His Name, Awesome Guy. Fresh Squeeze Orange Juice, and Bottomless Coffee Too...

One of thee best cobb salads around plenty of toppings and let's talk about the massive dressing. I flop back and forth between the bacon ranch and blue cheese both are delicious.

After living next to a Black Bear in AZ we had high expectations for the ones in WA. A few years ago we went to another location and were so disappointed we haven't been back since. We saw some great reviews of this location a decided to give it a shot and absolutely loved it! Great service, clean and quiet atmosphere and the food came out fast and was perfect! Thank you for returning our love for Black Bear Diners, we will definitely be back soon.

Black Bead Diner is one of the best spots to hang out with family or friends. Their food is super high quality. The service here is absolutely amazing! I've been eating at Black Bear for years! Truly a gem. I absolutely love their breakfast and coffee, I love that they use real fresh squeezed orange juice instead of fake juice. I recently had their Taco Salad and it's the best Taco Salad I've had in so long. I hope this restaurant is here forever, it truly is one of the best in the PNW. God bless you all & Happy New Year. Keep up the amazing work
